SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) - More than 20 volunteers helped load 110 laundry baskets full of household cleaning and personal care supplies on Saturday, December 1 to be delivered to senior adults in Sikeston and East Prairie.

Through Project Christmas Basket, Laundry Baskets Full of Love will enrich the lives of 110 senior adults in need on Saturday morning, Dec. 8.

“It’s awesome to see the support that we’ve received from our donors over the past few months and now from this great group of volunteers,” said Marilyn Hull, founder and president of Laundry Baskets Full of Love. “Without their help we would never be able to touch the lives of so many people who are in need in the Sikeston area. Project Christmas Basket is the perfect example of our mission to deliver God’s love, one laundry basket at a time.”

Donations from individuals and area businesses have allowed the Sikeston-based charity to surpass its goal of $3,500 needed to purchase all the supplies needed for the event. Most of the supplies are purchased from local retailers with the help of coupons.
