Charleston man arrested on multiple charges | Crime
CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said a Charleston man is in custody after an encounter with deputies at a local business.
Glenn Hartwick Jr., 22, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana.
Deputies say they noticed Hartwick acting in a suspicious manner as he was leaving a local nightclub early Sunday morning. When they approached Hartwick, they say he ran away from a vehicle that he had been kneeling behind.
When they searched the area where Hartwick had been seen, deputies say they found a loaded handgun hidden under the rear bumper of the vehicle. They say Hartwick then tried to leave the area in another vehicle as officers attempted to take him into custody.
According to the sheriff's department, Hartwick hit a deputy in the face during a struggle.
At the time of arrest, deputies say Hartwick was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be marijuana.
Hartwick remains in custody at the Scott County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
