Students honor veterans at Kelly School | News

BENTON, MO (KFVS)- One of Monday's veterans ceremonies was at Kelly High School in Benton, Missouri.

Local veterans from various wars talked to the students about their service overseas and here at home.

Students say they learned a lot and are grateful that the veterans took time to come and share their stories with them.

"I think sometimes at Veterans Day and even Memorial Day, sometimes it just turns into another sale or another day off from work," said Lisa Walter, a speaker at the event. "But for these families of the ones that served, it's a very big day of remembrance."

Quite a few students from both Kelly Middle and High Schools were there for the ceremony.
