American Red Cross asks you to share your favorite memory

American Red Cross asks you to share your favorite memory

(KFVS) - In honor of March being Red Cross Month, the American Red Cross is asking you to share your favorite Red Cross memory.

All month long, they will be looking for special, personal stories of hope. You can tell them what it was like to volunteer or why it's meaningful to you to give when disaster strikes.

The Red Cross says whether you’ve donated in the aftermath of a disaster, given blood, taken a class or received help in an emergency, everyone’s got a story to share – one that could inspire others to make a difference, too.

You can click here to submit your story online.

For more information, you can visit the American Red Cross online at www.redcross.org.

You can nominate someone in your life for Heartland Heroes

(KFVS) - Right here in the Heartland there are many individuals that go "above and beyond" and give so much of themselves.

There are people who you never forget, they touched your life in some way by giving of themselves, they are HEROES…

Because of the positive footprints they leave behind, KFVS wants to present their stories through feature segments which honor those who stand out as our "Heartland  Heroes."

Help us by telling us their stories. We'll select four stories to feature in February.

To submit your Heartland Heroes, you can click here to fill out the form online. You'll have to scroll down to confirm your age first.

2011 Holiday Military Greetings

2011 Holiday Military Greetings

SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - KFVS12 and The Heartland's CW are once again airing holiday military greetings in special public service announcements that are scheduled to run through New Year's Day.

We think it's important to remember those men and women who are away from their homes so that we can feel safer in ours. The greetings consist of personal messages from service persons stationed at military locations around the world whose families live in the KFVS12 viewing area.
